OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Occupational therapy is care that teaches you how to adapt. It can help you perform any kind of tasks in your home. You will learn how to use tools (you may hear them called assistive devices) if you need them.

How an Occupational Therapist Helps
An occupational therapist is a professional who can come up with ways to change your movements so you can get your work done, take care of yourself or your home so you can continue to be living as independently as possible in your home. For clients with more severe cognitive impairments, occupational therapy practitioners focus on improving functional skill,
"working around" the cognitive impairment to address the needed self-care or community living skill.
They can help you do specific things like:
-
Eat
-
Toileting
-
Dressing
-
Bathing
-
Food Preparation
-
Do laundry or clean up around the house
